Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 3, 2026 · Applies to v1.3+

The Woodlands Fishing Guide ("the App") is a small, independent iOS application that helps users find fishing spots in and around The Woodlands, Texas. This policy explains exactly what information the App accesses and what we do — and don't — do with it.

Information the App accesses

The App requests access to your device's location, and only while the App is open. Your location is used for two purposes:

Your location is never transmitted off your device by the App itself.

Advertising — Google AdMob

The App displays a small banner ad at the bottom of the map screen, served by Google AdMob. This is how we keep the App free.

AdMob is a Google service that operates separately from the App. In order to serve ads, AdMob may collect device-level information such as:

The App itself does not access or store any of this — it is collected directly by Google AdMob. The first time you open v1.3 or later, you will see Apple's standard App Tracking Transparency prompt asking whether you allow tracking; you can deny it and the App will still work normally, with ads served in non-personalized form.

For details on how Google handles this data, see Google's privacy policy and AdMob's data practices documentation.

What the App does not do

Apple's MapKit

The App uses Apple's MapKit framework to display maps and to hand off directions to Apple Maps. Map tile rendering and directions are handled by Apple. See Apple's privacy policy for details on how Apple handles map-related data.

Children's privacy

The App does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Ads served by Google AdMob are not personalized for users who appear to be minors.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date. Significant changes (such as the addition of new SDKs) will be reflected in the App's release notes.
